SermonHub — One workspace for Bible study, sermon prep, and teaching. Research, write, and export from a single desktop app.

What SermonHub Does

SermonHub is a desktop application for pastors, teachers, and students of the Word who want to study Scripture, build sermons, and keep everything in one place. It combines Bibles, commentaries, scratchpad, transcripts, and teaching resources in a single workspace so you can research, write, and export without juggling multiple tools.

Core Features

Sermon & Notes

  • Sermon panel — Rich-text editor for your manuscript: formatting, headings, lists, and one-click insertion of verses and content. Add slide blocks and build a full outline.

  • Preach mode — Present your sermon from within the app with a clean, focused view.

  • Notes panel (Scratchpad) — Separate notes that link to specific points in your sermon (anchors), so your research stays tied to the right place in your manuscript.

  • Handout & outline — Generate handouts and outlines from your sermon and outline items.

  •

Bible & Study Tools

  • Bible panel — Multiple translations, book/chapter navigation, and search. Add any verse to Sermon or Notes as main or sub-text with one click.

  • Compare panel — View two (or more) translations side by side for the same passage.

  • Commentary panel — Commentaries with one-click insertion into Sermon and Notes (Scratchpad).

  • Online Commentary (iCommentary) — Embedded browser for web-based commentary; copy selections into Sermon or Notes.

  • Dictionary/Encyclopedia panel — Look up terms and paste definitions into your sermon or notes.

  • Greek/Hebrew panel — Original-language study.

  • Online Bibles panel (iBibles) — Embedded browser for online Bibles; one-click insert into Sermon or Notes.

Teaching & Resources

  • Resources panel — Illustrations, quotes, curated summaries, and teaching insights tied to your passage.

  • Transcript panel — Work with transcripts (e.g. from sermons or teaching) and one-click insert into Sermon and Scratchpad.

  • Links panel — Organize and use URL links.

  • Books panel — Browse and use book-style resources (under development).

  • Tasks panel — Keep to-do items alongside your study and sermon prep.

AI & Assistance

  • Assistant / AI Chat panel — Use AI (e.g. OpenAI) for study and sermon help where configured.

  • Connect OpenAI panel — Configure and connect OpenAI for AI features.

Export & Output

  • Export to Word (DOCX) — Professional export: clean layout, consistent formatting, verse and slide blocks, no UI artifacts.

  • Export to PDF — Print-ready PDFs.

  • Export to text — Plain-text export when needed.

  • Print — Print sermons and handouts directly.

  • Slide backgrounds — Built-in slide backgrounds for presentation-style output.

Workspace & Sessions

  • Flexible layout — Open, close, and arrange panels (Sermon, Scratchpad, Bible, Compare, Commentary, Resources, etc.) to match how you work.

  • Popout window — Move panels (e.g. Bible, Commentary) into a separate window for a multi-monitor or multi-window setup.

  • Session save/open — Save your whole workspace (open panels, layout, recent files) and reopen it later. Recent sessions list for quick resume.

Desktop App & Updates

  • Windows desktop app — Install and run SermonHub as a native-style desktop application (Electron).

  • In-app updates — Update notifications, background download, and one-click “Install Now” without leaving the app.

  • Single instance — Prevents multiple copies of the app from running at once.

Who It’s For

  • Pastors — Full sermon workflow from text study to manuscript, slides, handouts, and export.

  • Teachers — Lesson prep with Bibles, commentaries, illustrations, and organized notes.

  • Students — Serious Bible study with multiple translations, Greek/Hebrew, and commentaries in one place.

  • Anyone preparing talks or lessons from Scripture — One workspace instead of many tabs and apps.
